Shop and Supplies

Post Offices in Patterdale and Pooley Bridge.

Petrol Station in Glenridding and at Rheged Services on the A592/A66 junction near Penrith.

Calor gas and camping supplies are available in both Glenridding and Pooley Bridge and most of the larger camp sites have their own shops.

Food Stores in Pooley Bridge, Glenridding and Patterdale, but for a Supermarket you will need to go to Penrith. For local produce the Farm Shop at Stainton, The Food Hall in Rheged, or The Cumbrian Food Hall in Penrith (near the station) are worth visiting. Dalemain produces a range of Country House frozen meals available from the shop or tearoom.

Pooley Bridge Farmers' Market
only on the last Sunday of every month from 10.30am to 2.30pm from April to September. Local farmers, growers, producers and artisan craftsmen offer tremendous variety of high quality and speciality local produce and crafts. In winter the Market is held at Rheged.
Orton Farmers' Market (in the Eden Valley about fifteen miles from Ullswater) is held on the second Saturday of every month, 9.30am to 2.30 pm, throughout the year.

The general stores in Pooley Bridge, Patterdale and Glenridding sell maps, books and some walking gear.
