The Local Area of Patterdale
Nearest Pub: The White Lion in Patterdale is about a 10 minute walk away. Also the Patterdale Hotel. Nearby Glenridding has a pub, 2 hotels with pubs, Fellbites Restaurant, and Greystones Cafe
Nearest Shops: In Patterdale the village store and post office is open 7 days a week. In Glenridding there are 2 general stores (one with a cashpoint), a newsagent, Catsytcam outdoor shop and a petrol station and local garage.
Transport Links
By Road: About 30 minutes drive down the A592 from Junction 40 of the M6 (Penrith). About 40 minutes from Junction 36 (via Kendal and Windermere. Keswick about 20 minutes by car. Note access to the B&B is down a farm track.
By Train: Nearest Train Stations at Penrith and Windermere
By Bus: Regular bus service to Glenridding from Penrith (all year) and Windermere (summer only).

Crookabeck Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast offers luxurious B&B guest house accommodation in a superb Lake District location on a working farm near Patterdale, Ullswater and Helvellyn.
We have one guest suite which sleeps 3 people so is ideal for small families, couples and friends. The ensuite bedroom is beautifully appointed and guests have their own lounge with a large leather sofa, separate leather armchair, TV, DVD, Sky. The dining area also has a sink with tea and coffee making facilities.
Our delicious home cooked Cumberland breakfasts source as much produce as possible from our own farm and the local area, including the eggs which come from our hens who you will see wandering around the farmyard. Our lakeland farm has an array of animals including Angorra Goats, Sheep, Chickens and Ducks. There are also assorted pets including dogs, cats, and our new horse.
Dogs are welcome at our B&B but must stay in the adjoining kennels. We charge a nightly fee of £5 per pet.
The B&B is in a superb location at the foot of Place Fell. Ideally located for the Coast to Coast walking route and also walking Helvellyn and the other fells in this part of the Eastern Lake District. We are about 0.5 mile from Ullswater and also close to Brotherswater. Ullswater has a huge range of attractions including sailing, rowing, kayaking, fishing and even swimming.
