June 2014 events
Ullswater Fair - Sunday 29th June 2014. Patterdale - King George V Playing Fields. Fell races, dog competitions and much more at this excellent annual event.
Lord Birkett Trophy Cup - Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th July 2014. Annual event in memory of Lord Birkett, the saviour of Ullswater. Prestigious sailing event with over 200 participants organised by the Ullswater Yacht Club.
August 2014 events
Ullswater Swimming Championship - Date TBC. Senior Championship Swim the full length of Ullswater, a distance of 7 miles. There will be 15 swimmers this year. Start will be around 0945-1000 hours by the Ferry Landing at Glenridding. The finish being a large yellow buoy in line from the end of the Jetty and the shore on the east side. Patterdale Dog Day. Saturday 23th August 2014. Patterdale. Annual event with an open sheep dog trials competition, Cumberland Wrestling, Dog competitions and much more. Full details on the Patterdale Dog Day website.
September 2014 events
Helvellyn Triathlon. Sunday 7th September 2014. Gruelling cycle ride including “The Struggle”, swim in Ullswater, and then run up Helvellyn. What better way to spend a Sunday! If you can’t take part please come along and support those mad enough to do so! Great viewing in Glenridding and Patterdale.
Ullswater Outdoor Festival - Dates TBC. Woodland trails, family steamer rides, romantic walks, lakeside activities from mountain biking to sailing and kayaking, waterfall walks, energetic hikes and remote peak ascents. Full details on the Ullswater Outdoor Festival website.
October 2014 events
Ian Hodgson Mountain Relay. Sunday 5th October 2014. Annual mountain relay race from Sykeside Campsite in Brotherswater to Patterdale.
