More information on The Glenridding Sailing Centre on Ullswater
The Glenridding Sailing Centre was set up 25 years ago and is now run by Pete Meads and Steve Sykes.
The centre is located on ‘The Spit’ at the southern end of Ullswater. The location is ideal with Glenridding Beck running down one side, and a gentle curved beach on the other side, facing into a sheltered bay. The bay provides a safe area for novices, while the more skilled can venture out into the main part of the lake.
The Centre provides hire of traditional boats and a range of dinghies, and hire only for canoeing and kayaking.
Our qualified and friendly staff offer RYA sailing courses over 2 and 5 days as well as one to one personal tuition and tailor made courses to suit your needs.
A safety boat service is available 7 days a week during the season, and shore staff keep a close watch on the clients on the water.
Your own craft can also be stored and launched at the Centre, and may be stored there for the season.
The centre has its own beach, free parking, toilets and a picnic area. It is just 500 yards from the centre of Glenridding.
All of this in a truly spectacular setting on Ullswater in the Lake District. So if you’re thinking about learning to sail, are an expert already, or just fancy messing about on the water, why not come and see us and experience the best way to see and enjoy Ullswater!
