Helvellyn Cottages are in a superb location on the bridlepath above Glenridding on the way to the old Greenside mine. They were built as miners cottages in the 19th Century and maintain many original features as well as having all the modern conveniences to give you a comfortable, relaxing and memorable self catering holiday in the Lake District.
Each cottages sleeps 4 in one double and one twin bedroom. The bathrooms have a bath and overhead power shower. The kitchens have all the necessary equipment including ovens, grill, toaster, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. Cottage 2 also has a dishwasher.
The cottages both have oil fired central heating and also wood burning stoves in the living rooms for which an initial supply of logs is provided. Both have freeview TV, DVD, CD player and DVDs, Videos, books, games and maps.
Cottage 1 also has a fully enclosed garden with views towards the lakes and across to the foothills of Helvellyn. Cottage 2 has no garden but has a bench outside the front door with views to the fells. Both cottages have an abundance of walking straight from the door.
Families are welcome at the cottages and travel cots and high chairs are available. Please note though that both have open staircases. The cottages are dog friendly with pets welcome at both cottages, although we ask that they are kept downstairs. Please see our terms and conditions for further information.
