Patterdale is at the southern end of Ullswater, just beyond Glenridding. As well as popular tourist destination Patterdale and Glenridding are also thriving village communities and Patterdale has its own Church, the beautiful St Patricks, and a small village school. The village also has excellent facilities including the Patterdale Village Store and Post Office, the White Lion Pub, and the Patterdale Hotel. It is surrounded by some of the most beautiful fells in the Lake District including Helvellyn, St Sunday Crag, and Place Fell.

Patterdale one main pub, the White Lion Inn, which offers friendly service and good food throughout the day. The Patterdale Hotel, also has a good bar and a wonderful outside seating area in which to relax and enjoy the views and the sunshine.

Both the Patterdale Hotel and the White Lion Pub offer extensive menus and serve meals throughout the day. Nearby Glenridding also has a good range of places to eat.

Patterdale Shops

Patterdale is home to the Patterdale Village Store and Post Office which offers a great range of food, drinks and essentials, as well as a great range of local gifts. They also specialise in selling Coast to Coast Walk and Patterdale Terrier Souvenirs. The shop is open 7 days a week and provides packed lunches and fresh hot and cold sandwiches and delicious Lakeland Ice Creams.

Patterdale is home to Crookabeck Farm, which produces local wool and mohair rugs, knitwear, hats, scarves, socks etc.
